How to Handle Rake in Online Home Game (PokerStars) As with many of you, my buddies and I are trying to transition our occasional cash game to online. The current method we have been considering is PokerStars Home Games (we live in PA). In an effort to avoid the rake, we were going to do Play Money and settle up via venmo, etc. Any unlicensed game with a rake is illegal in most states (perhaps all). You argue that the 'rake' is covering the food / beverages / supplies / electricity. The Copag Cards, clay chips, nice poker.
